Sit-down Sherry Tasting in Vancouver
March 12, 2015 at 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm$40
Sherry is an often overlooked category of wine here on the Left Coast, so at the Broadway International Wineshop they decided it was time to do something about that and shine the spotlight on some little wines with big flavour.
To do that, they have invited their long-time friend and Wine Educator extraordinaire, Paul Watkins, to drop by the shop for a sit-down tasting of six sherries from the legendary Bodegas Hidalgo La Gitana.
The samples tasted will reflect the major styles of sherry, and will run the gamut of their production—from their dry Manzanilla La Gitana, one of the most popular and highly sought after Manzanilla sherries made (and the only sherry ever to make the Wine Spectator top 100 Wines of the Year list), to the dessert Pedro Ximenez Triana sherry.
To make things even more irresistible, they are going to pair these notable sherries with cheeses from Benton Brothers and meats from Oyama, as well as freshly baked bread from one of their own. This is going to be an evening of indulgence for your taste buds that you don’t want to miss.
The sherry-sipping fun is on March 12th from 7-9pm. Tickets are $40. A limited number of seats are available. To make sure you get a spot call the shop at 604.734.8543 between 11am–9pm. Payment must be made upon reservation.
