Chef Mark Filatow has done it again, and again, and again, and again, and again and again.
For an incredible seven straight years, Filatow’s Waterfront Restaurant & Wine Bar has won Vancouver Magazine’s best Okanagan restaurant award.
Judges claimed Waterfront won for many reasons, all born of Filatow. “He’s the originator of dishes that sing of their Okanagan birthplace,” said the judges. “His menus run deep in both modern and classic directions.”
Filatow has been to Italy to master salami making and to India to study spices. “He thinks globally and cooks locally with exceptionally-sourced regional ingredients,” continued the judges. “Extra marks for drawing local wines and spirits into the menu.”
Waterfront has been at the same, albeit expanded and renovated, address since it started 11 years ago, 1180 Sunset Dr., across from Prospera Place arena.
